GOD’S MARVELOUS LOVE AND WORK OF SALVATION

B. The single greatest problem with man – suppression
of Truth.
1. The Bible
uniformly testifies the sad fact that the human race (both believers and
unbelievers) has a very strong “natural/sinful” proclivity to suppress and
disbelieve Truth/BD due to loving and believing the lie.
2. Man’s proclivity
to suppress God’s Truth plays out in three critical areas of each man’s
life.
a. Unbeliever’s suppression of truth regarding
God & salvation, Rom 1:18-25; Mk 14:21.
b. Believer’s suppression of truth regarding
fellowship with God, 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Cor 3:1-4; Galatians.
c. Believer’s
suppression of truth regarding spiritual growth, 2 Tim 4:10; Rom 12:1-2; Heb 5:11-6:8;
2 Pet 3:16-18; Gal 3:1-5.
3. The only way to
break the curse of proclivity to suppress Truth is through persistent +Vol of seeking God, BD, & abiding in Him, Jer 29:13; Jn 3:20-21; Gal 5:22-23; Jn
15:4-5.
4. God’s chesed love and amazing grace is never deterred by man’s
rebellious truth- suppressing nature, 1 Cor 10:1-13;
Rom 5:6-10; Gen 3:8-24; 4:7-8; 6:5-9; 12:1-4; 17:1-2; 19:16; Ex 14:10-12;

5. A look at the truth-suppressing disciples regarding
the impending crucifixion of Jesus Christ – and the need for the SL and SG in epignosis doctrine, Mark 10:32-37;
6. The challenge for
every believer: be an overcomer who continues to grow in Truth/BD or live a self-deluded
truth-suppressing life, 1 Jn 2:15; 28; Rev 3:21-22.
