GOD’S COVENANTS – Part 4: Dispensationalism

A. The
first six direct Old Testament prophecies of Jesus Christ, the
Messiah.
#1 Gen 3:15, God promises a virgin-born
divine Messiah for deliverance.
#2, Gen 22:18; Gal
3:16: God promises that He will be a
Jew.
#3, Gen 49:10: God promises that He will come from the tribe
of Judah.
#4, Numbers 23-24, 24:16-17 – God
promises He will be King over Israel.
#5, Dt 18:15-19,
God promises He will be a Mediator – similar to Moses.
#6 ,
2 Sam 7:8-19; 1 Chron 17:11-14, God promises He will be
ancestor of David
B. Introduction to the issues and terminology
associated with the covenants and the plan of God for the Jews.

C. The Eight Covenants of Scripture.
#1: The Edenic Covenant
(Gen 1:28-30; 2:15-23; Psa 8:3-9; Hos
6:7).
#2: Adamic Covenant
(Gen 3:14-19).
#3: Noahic Covenant
(Gen 8:20-9:17).
#4 Abrahamic Covenant
(Gen 12:1-3, 7; 13:14-17; 17:1-21; 25:15-18).
1) Great nations was to
come out of Abraham.
2) He was promised a land specifically, the land
of Canaan.
3) Abraham himself was to be greatly blessed.
4) Abraham’s name would be great.
5) Abraham will be a blessing to others, 12:2.

Those who bless will be blessed, 12:3.
7) Those who curse will be cursed, 12:3.
8) In Abraham all will ultimately be blessed, a
promise of Gentile blessing.
9) Abraham would receive a son through his wife
Sarah.
10)
His descendents would undergo the Egyptian bondage.
11) Other nations as well as Israel would come
forth from Abraham.
12) His name was to be changed from Abram to
Abraham.
13) Sarai’s name was to
be changed to Sarah
14) There was to be a token of the covenant –
circumcision.
#5 Mosaic Covenant: conditional covenant, Ex

#6 Real Estate (AKA Palestinian) Covenant, Dt 29-30.
