Victory over Fear through Biblical Faith

 

A.†† Victory over fear, 1 Sam 17:11, 37.

††††††††††† 1.†† Apart from a genuine relationship with God and orientation to Bible doctrine, there is no true escape from fearófear is the inevitable lot of man apart from God & Bible doctrine, 1 Sam 17:11.

 

††††††††††† 2.††† God has a marvelous matchless plan of grace to deliver all believers from fear (2 Tim 1:17), but that plan is inextricably linked to a real living and growing relationship with God based His Word, Gen 15:1; Josh. 1:5-7; Psa 23:4-5; 27; 91; Isa 43:1-2; Heb. 2:14-15; 1 Pt 5:7; Rev 1:17.

 

††††††††††† 3.†† God is always faithful!Duringtimes of stress or fear, the believer can always rest in the faithfulness of God, Lam 3:21-25; 1 Cor. 1:9; 10:13; 1 Thess. 5:24; 2 Thess. 3:3; 2 Tim 2:13;Heb 10:23; Js 1:19; 1 Jn 1:9; Rev 19:11

 

††††††††††† 4.Failure for the believer to triumphant over earthly fears through a relationship with God, will preclude or debar him from advancing into the promised life, Num 13:27-14:9; 1 Sam. 17; 1 Cor. 10:11.

 

††††††††††† 5.††† The solution to all problems of fear always comes down to biblical, doctrinal faith, Mat 14:22‑33.

 

††††††††††††††††††††††† (a)Faith in the Plan of God, 2 Tim 1:7; Jn 14:27.

 

††††††††††††††††††††††† (b)Faith in the presence of God, Mt 28:20; Heb 13:6-7.††

 

††††††††††††††††††††††† (c)†† Growth in personal love for God, 1 Jn 4:18.

 

††††††††††† 6.†† Through an active and growing spiritual life the believer is able to parlay all of his fears into biblical trustóand thus into power, strength, and confidence, Psa. 56.

††††††††††† 7.†† Failure to parlay fear into trust will result in stress, despondency and depression, 1 Kings 19:1‑18.

 

††††††††††† 8.†† Recovery from fear, anxiety, and depression is only possible by returning to the God of the Bibleóby returning to a healthy growing spiritual life, Deut 20:3‑4; 31:6; Psalm 27:14; 37:7; 91; 55:22; 56:3-4; Prov 2:8; 3:5‑6; Isa 26:3; 30:15; 41:10;40:29‑31; 2 Chron 20:15; Jn 16:33; 1 Cor 10:13; Heb 13:6.

 

††††††††††† 9.†† Faith in Godís providence removes fear of the uncertain future, Mat 10:31; Prov 3:25-26; Heb. 11:23-27.

 

††††††††††† 10.Faith in Godís provision of the Holy Spirit removes fear of inability and weakness, 2 Tim 1:7; Jn 14:16-17; Eph 3:20; Acts 1:8.

 

††††††††††† 11.Faith in Godís unconditional perfect love cultivates a reciprocal personal love for God that removes fear/terror/dread/suspicion of God, 1 John 4:18.

 

††††††††††† 12.†† Faith in Godís perfect provisions removes fear of suffering, Rev. 2:10; 1 Pet 3:13-15.

 

††††††††††† 13.Faith in the presence of God removes fear of death, Psalm 23:4, 2 Corinthians 5:8; Hebrews 2:14-15.

††††††††††† 14.†† Faith in the promises of God enables any believer to become fearless, strong, and courageous regardless of the circumstances of life, Joshua 1:5-9.

 

††††††††††† 15.Faith in the promises of God removes fear and thus develops capacity inside the believer to receive and enjoy the tremendous greater grace blessings of God, 1 Pt 5:6-7; Numbers 14:8-24; Prov 3:5-6;
